Guided Meditations

Guided Meditations

You can use the phrases below to help you stay focused on your breath and remain present in the moment.  You may say them mentally to yourself, or you may say them out loud to guide others when you are meditating with a group.  The guided meditations below are from “The Blooming of a Lotus,” by Thich Nhat Hanh.  Some of them have been modified slightly, and you should feel free to modify them and to compose your own phrases to suit your own particular needs.

Let your awareness be grounded by your breath.

  • Breathing in, I am aware of my body
  • Breathing out, I smile to my body
  • Breathing in, I calm my body
  • Breathing out, I smile to my body
  • Breathing in, I am aware of all the sensations and sounds in my body
  • Breathing out, I am alive
  • Breathing in, I am aware of this moment
  • Breathing out, what a wonderful moment
  • Calming, Smiling, Present Moment, Wonderful Moment
